- A big upswing in young black boys named Barack, Hussein, and Obama.
- A surge in popularity among young black females of the names Michelle, Malia, and Sasha.
- A sudden increase in the placement of shelter dogs, especially mutts.
- A large outpouring of special offers for free, hypoallergenic mutts from shelters for adoption by the new First Family.
